The name Quinnell and rugby go hand in hand, following in the footsteps of his British Lion father Derek, (younger brothers Craig and Gavin were to follow also) Scott's passion for the sport has made him one of its best known figures.
Born in 1972, Scott was a stalwart in the Llanelli side in both its amateur and professional guises for 11 years. During this period, he scored a total of 69 tries, captaining them for two seasons, taking them to the semi finals of the Heineken Cup, winning numerous Heineken Man of the Match awards as well as becoming player of the tournament and top try score in the process.
In 1994, Scott switched codes taking on the challenge of Rugby League at Wigan. Whilst there he became a firm favourite, scoring 22 tries as well as representing Wales on the international stage.
He returned to union for a brief spell at Richmond before returning to his beloved home town to once again take on the challenge of the 15 man game with the Scarlets.
Scott has represented his country at Rugby Union on 52 occasions, scoring 12 tries. He toured with the British Lions twice, scoring 5 tries and has also represented the Barbarians.
After a magnificent six year return to the game, injury forced Scott to hang up his boots in 2003. He took up coaching, firstly with the U21s and later with Llanelli RFC culminating in a memorable win in the Konica Cup.
Scott Quinnell is also an after dinner speaker and is available for after dinner speaking all over the United Kingdom.
