Speaker Profile
He is known for his fantastic World Cup goal playing for Scotland against Holland in the 1978 Final. Archie had a sparkling career for St Mirren, Preston, Derby County, Nottingham Forest, Birmingham City, Wigan & Jacksonville Teamen over in the USA.
He has some good stories to tell about his love-hate relationship with Brian Clough at Derby & Nottingham Forest, not to mention the stories about the Martinet manager.
Archie had a spell as player-coach under Peter Taylor at Derby & then with his old boss Cloughie at Nottingham Forest, he managed Rotherham between 1994-1996. He is a proud Scot who won 32 international caps he has in recent years managed Scotland's under 19's team.
He knows football inside out, and has many fascinating tales to tell about his football travels.
